Pravash Tiwari, Ph.D., is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the School of Environment and Spatial Informatics, China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT). His research focuses on aerosol physics, remote sensing of aerosols and air pollution dynamics. His work integrates multi-platform remote sensing datasets with the core-shell Mie-optimized (COSMO) framework to derive the microphysical and optical properties of BC. He has developed a COSMO-coupled radiative transfer modeling framework to quantify black carbon aerosol’s regional radiative forcing by dynamically constraining particle size and mixing state. His ongoing projects include developing a model-free, mass-conservation framework for BC emission quantification and creating a scalable, fast radiative transfer tool for top-of-atmosphere forcing estimates using machine learning trained on physical model outputs.
